Council President Johnathan Austin has submitted a resolution to recognize UAB's athletic program for its important contributions financially and the pride it provides for District 6, surrounding communities and the state in general. Rumors of shutting down UAB football have been floating around as part of an overall UAB strategy- even with the hard work of Bill Clark and his staff. And although they are rumors, they haven't been put to rest by anyone so far. So city leaders don't want to stay quiet on the sidelines. http://www.birminghamalcitycouncil.org
