Virtual Box is Oracle's Product which is used for virtualization. Install Kali Linux on Virtual Box First of all we need virtual box so go to virtual box official website and download it and to download Kali Linux , go to kalilinux.org and download ISO file according to your operating system i.e 32 bit or 64 bit operating system. After downloading, install virtual box and open it. Click on New create virtual machine Type name of your operating system , you can name it anything. name of virtual machine Select ram size of your virtual machine i recommend you to select at least 1 GB. ram size of kali machine Now create hard drive and select these options. create hard disk Select type of your hard drive type hard disk type Now select dynamic allocated dynamic disk Select hard drive size , i recommend at least 15 GB. hard disk size Now right click on your machine and then click on display. video memory Now increase video memory to 64 MB Now go to storage and click on empty kali linux iso file select Click on this CD icon and then click on "Choose virtual CD/DVD" , now go to the location where you download your KaliLinux.iso file and select it. browse iso file Now start this virtual machine. From this screen select "Install" select install option Select your language and select your location On this screen press enter kali linux host name and again on this screen press enter domain of kali linux virutal box Now type password for Root user and do not forget it because you need it later to log in to your Kali Linux box. password for root user Select you clock time zone and after this select "Use Entire disk " and press enter use entire disk Note: I am using this option because i am installing kali linux on virtual box , DO NOT do it if you are installing it on your real computer or laptop because it will erase all data on your hard drive. Now select "All files in one Partition" and Select "Finish Partitioning and write changes to disk". Now answer this question as yes write changes to disk On this question , answer it as No use netword mirror On this screen select Yes install grub on kali linux Now login with root user , user name is "root" and password is password that you set while installing it. login with user Install Virtual Box Guest Additions in Kali Linux Now we are all done with installing Kali Linux and now we need to install Virtual Box guest Additions , because it will install required drivers and helps Kali Linux Virtual Machine to work properly on virtual box In Virtual Box window go to Devices and click on "Insert Guest Additions CD Image" it will insert CD in your virtual machine , so open you cd room drive and copy all content in this drive to desktop. now navigate to your folder and do ls. cd Desktop ls cd content now change the permission of file "VBoxLinuxAdditions.run" to executable by typing this command in terminal chmod 777 VBoxLinuxAdditions.run ls now run this file by tying this ./VBoxLinuxAdditions.run now wait for few seconds it will install all required tools and drivers that are required by your guest operating system and finally you will get this message.
