Recorded at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Sheffield, Alabama in 1971 for the "Sticky Fingers" album. The song has 3 guitar parts on it, a 6 string in Nashville tuning played by Mick Taylor, a 12 string played by Keith Richards and an electric part also played by Keith. The interplay between the 3 guitar tracks is really nice and to me gives the song it's unique sound. Keith's 12 string is tuned to open G, a tuning that he used on a lot of his songs. Mick Taylor's part is really interesting as he mixes chords with harmonics that really add a lot to the feel of the tune I had a really great time working out, recording the parts and planning the lesson to this tune. I hope you have fun playing the song! The guitar I'm playing here is a Taylor 214ce koa deluxe. I really like this guitar, it intonates amazingly well and it's tone is very balanced. It's also very easy to play. The strings are Elixir phosphor bronze 12-53 with nanoweb coating. These strings are a little bit more expensive, but for me they easily last 4-5 times longer than non coated strings.
